Saving Drafts
Understand local autosave drafts, browser storage, and how to avoid losing work while testing.
If you experience unexpected behavior while drawing, selecting, importing, or exporting, use this guide to quickly resolve the issue. Most symptoms are caused by active tools, hidden selections, or browser focus states.
Common Canvas & Drawing Issues
This is typically caused by one of three active editor locks:
The Fill tool fills connected pixels of a matching color. If a selection mask is active, the fill area is tightly constrained inside that boundary. Clear the selection if you want to flood the full canvas.
Shortcuts are temporarily disabled whenever focus is shifted away from the workspace (for example, if you click the browser's search bar, switch tabs, or are currently typing inside text fields like Cursor Name, Frame Delay, or Custom Sizing inputs). Click anywhere on the drawing canvas to return keyboard focus back to the editor.
Import & Workspace Persistence
Because typical cursors have small pixel grids (e.g. 32x32 px), high-res images undergo massive downsampling. Use the Fit to Canvas or Real Size (100%) buttons in the import bar. Ensure you select the Crisp (Nearest-Neighbor) resize method for retro pixel art, and Smooth (Lanczos) for photos and detailed vectors.
Autosaves are stored locally inside your browser's private sandbox (IndexedDB). They do not sync to servers. Your draft will disappear if you switch browsers, use Private/Incognito windows, run cleaning tools (like CCleaner), or manually clear your browser's site cookies and storage data. Always export regular
